Pretty average. In fact, the Mid-Day guys directed them to me. (They are good friends of each other).
But the fact is rather simple: they all give the same news. How much variations can they bring to go one up? And with Mid-Day innovating endlessly, there's a loyal reader base that refuses to go elsewhere. Mumbai Mirror came and is almost gone. Hindustan Times came, and is kinda going. Afternoon is just about surviving. It's a jungle out there. Self - belief is the most potent force.

You're right... tis the same news they've got to give... But I like the way Indian Express is going... still seems to be a newspaper, rather than a gossip rag.
Yes, Mirror I believe is in trouble... HT too? Mumbai's indeed a jungle... No wonder everybody was chary about venturing into the ToI and Mid Day territory.
