DEAR ALL,
as an avid fan of kumar sanu's magical voice, it is my pleasure to start this thread if you wish to sing kumar sanu's songs and share it with the internet community, this is the place to do it ![]() your voice doesn't have to be similar to sanu da's....for eg, my voice is not 1% as good as sanu da's , but i am sharing the following song with you... 'zubaan khamosh hoti hai nazar se kaam hota hai isi pal ka zamane mein mohobbat naam hota hai note:you will have to share the files in .ZIP format (send to compressed folder) for it to be compatible with uploading on this forum enjoy!!! He is a great singer no doubt and its a shame that we are hearing less of him nowadays. I've always felt that there is 'soul' in Kumar Sanu's singing, which is lacking in other singers e.g. Udit, Abhijeet, Vinod Rathod, etc.. (i'm not including younger singers e.g. sonu, shaan, babul as IMO they dont even come close to the class of singers in KS' era). He has a very different style amongst his contempories and i feel that is precisley what gives him the edge. However, his voice has deteriorated somewhat and he seems less able to sing the kind of songs he did in the 90's. Maybe it is lack of practise or maybe nature has taken its toll (look at Lataji as a prime example of what time can do to ones voice) even Rafi saab's and Kishore da's voices underwent a change as the years went on, this is natural and unavoidable, but i feel that with KS, it has happened too soon. Maybe he needs to do 'riyaaz' on a regular basis but there is definately something different to his voice nowadays.
I have liked KS since i can remember and a lot of ppl critcise him on his 'nasal' sound. This dosent bother me, in fact i quite like his nasal tone in certain songs as this enables him to fill the song with 'dard' he had, at one point, mastered the art of filling each and every song with the right amount of emotion and control however nowadays i think that he tries too hard with the emotions and he is losing control over his songs. His songs in Vaada, MJS, Dreams, Girlfriend , Koi mere dil mein hai etc are all very nice and sung well but they are nothing extraordinary and nothing any other singer could not have sung. There used to be a time when we would listen to KS songs e.g, Aashiqui, Dil hai ke manta nahin, zindagi ek juaa, criminal and many many more and think 'wow only KS could have sung this song' but sadly this is sorely lacking nowadays. His Vocals in 'Zindagi ek juaa' are nothing short of amazing, the flow, bass, emotions and control he displays in these songs he has not displayed in any other album to date. in fact if you listen to any song of his from ZEJ (he out did Asha Bhonsle in this album by miles!) and then listen to any song from his present albums, you will feel that they are not the same singer. I desperately wish KS gets back into form and that we get melodious songs (which are also missing from todays albums). Fingers Crossed!!! |
