This portion by Rafi and Suraiya seems to be the introduction to the
Asha/Suraiya duet "Jaake laage naina". The version of the duet that
I have begins with the Suraiya portion of what you just uploaded.
Makes me think that perhaps the short "aa aa aa" in the duet is in
Rafi's voice itself.

A little splicing and it should be possible to add the Rafi part at the beginning
of the duet. Both songs seem to be at the same pitch, speed, etc
(something one needs to worry about with some of these older songs
gotten from various sources). I don't have the necessary software
for that. It may take a bit of work. Does anybody in HF-land have it?

I was wondering if the song was longer--I mean the Asha-Suraiya duet. What U have written clarifies that. I am sure the aaa is Rafisaab. When I first heard the song did not pay any attention to it as it was just a snippet. But then found the VN bk did not list the song under duets but under mishr yugal geet--as a Suraiya, Rafi and Asha song. On listening closely after reading that realised it was Rafiaab. Yes wish someone would add the intro part.

I have attached both songs to this post. The Suraiya/Rafi duet begins
with Rafi's voice followed by a verse by Suraiya. The Asha/Suraiya duet
begins with the same verse by Suraiya followed by the actual duet itself.
What /Priya/I were suggesting was that the Rafi verse be pre-pended to the
Asha/Suraiya duet (which is in good quality). The speeds of the 2 are
slightly different. My guess is that the Rafi/Suraiya duet is a bit off-speed.
