I am starting a new post on the Legends of Telugu Cinema NT Rama Rao and A Nageswar Rao. I know the foot fall of this post will be few but still I want to complete my collection and sharing the albums available with me of these two legends. These two need no introduction as far as Telugu Cinema is concerned. They were fortunate enough to have reigned the Golden Period of Telugu Cinema accompanied my Ghantasala's music. Here is the brief biography of these two stars followed by their filmography.

(ANR) Swapna Sundari (1950)
The success of this film with a story of a man from the earth falling in love with a woman from heavens became a template for many more movies that followed it. Interestingly every one of them became very popular. Anjali, who played the dream woman in hero's life, later made a movie, "Suvarna Sundari (1957)" that was similar in theme, under her home banner that became a huge success in all the languages it was made in. Vijaya Pictures made a movie called "Jagadeka Veeruni Katha" in 1961 that was an extension of the same theme. In 1990, yet another film ("Jagadeka Veerudu Athi Loka Sundari") with the similar theme was made. All these movies were hugely successful. There must be something fascinating for people about these fantasy stories. I am uploading songs from this film in two back-to-back two posts. I am also including a special version of "Kaanaga Naithiniga" with an introduction. I believe the person talking is Anjali Devi herself but I am not 100% sure of this. Anyway, here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) ![]() |
