Feroze Nizami Ji made excellent and very melodious music, and this naturally made him famous. It was sheer hard work from him and the singers he employed. His compositions had a great range from Hindustani Classical Music to Western Music as well as Thumris and Ghazals. He had a very large singer variety as well and made very good use of many of those great vocal talents. He himself was a great exponent of classical music. Hope to create a thread for his Pakistani films soon as well.
Starting a thread to appreciate this great genius and enjoy his immortal compositions. This is dedicated to his 10 pre - partition films, 1943 - 1947. He used almost 30 singers! Here is his short but extremely memorable filmography: 1. Vishwas (1943) with Master Chaila Lal Ji 2. Badi Baat (1944) 3. Umang (1944) 4. Us Paar (1944) 5. Piya Milan (1945) 6. Sharbati Aankhein (1945) 7. Amar Raj (1946) 8. Nek Parveen (1946) 9. Jugnu (1947) 10. Rangeen Kahani (1947) Regarding his favourite singers of pre - partition period, though he used a large number of singers, the great Amirbai Ji was his favourite vocalist (obviously, so, even among females). His second female favourite was another great top 1940s singer, Hamida Bano Ji. His favourite male singer was the veteran great, Mohammed Rafi Ji, who received a lot of encouragement and further training from him. G. M. Durrani Ji, a melodious top male singer of 1940s came next. He used many more top playback singers like Zohrabai Ji, Rajkumari Banaraswali Ji, Shamshad Begum Ji, Zeenat Begum Ji, Naseem Akhtar Ji, Parul Ghosh Ji, Mohantara Ji, Binapani Ji and Hafiz Ali Khan Mastana Ji. Noor Jehan Ji, Feroze Dastoor Ji, Nirmala Devi Ji are some famous singing stars who sang for him. He also encouraged some great 1940s' singers who unfortunately never became top, like Kusum Mantri Ji and Krishna Kumari Ganguly Ji. Great classical vocalist, Malika-E-Mauseeqi Roshan Ara Begum Ji has sung some of her best film songs for him. I will be posting the interesting song lists very soon, uploading songs I have. Our dear friends having the balance are requested to upload them. Vidur This post has been edited by Vidur Sury: Aug 3 2011, 05:25 PM |

Enjoy all songs, huge rages among all, from Feroze Nizami Ji's most famous film, Jugnu (1947). The film starred top and great singing star Noor Jehan Ji among its lead, and the classic tragedy bought a lot of fame to the then long term top star, thespian Dilip Kumar Ji. Very surprisingly, great singer Mohammed Rafi appears in the song "Wo Apni Yaad Dilane Ko", as one of the college boys, even giving playback for the first time for Dilip Kumar, whom he sang a very large number of songs after that (even though Mukesh Ji and Talat Ji sang a lot for him in the following few years).
Noor Jehan Ji's songs are evergreen and are much heard even today by music lovers. Rafi Ji had his first huge break in popularity with the Noor Jehan Ji duet, Feroze Nizami Ji's most famous song, Yahan Badla Wafa Ka. Top veteran stalwart Shamshad Begum Ji (singing for Latika Ji, comedian and famous comedian Gope Ji's wife) and the famous classical genius Roshan Ara Begum Ji (singing for a very young Shashikala Ji) added to the excellence of music apart from Noor Jehan Ji and Rafi Ji. Here is the delightful singing list with film details. All classics are 128 kbps - songs 1 and 6 uploaded in next post due to lack of space: 9. Jugnu (1947) Banner: Shaukat Art Productions, Bombay Leading Pair: Noor Jehan, Dilip Kumar Cast: Ghulam Mohammed, Sulochana/Ruby Mayers, Latika, Zia, Laddan, Agha Mirza, Sengar, Pravin Paul, Shashikala, Nazir Kashmiri, Munawar Agha, Jillobai 1. 7. Hamein To Sham-E-Gham Mein Kaatni Hai Zindgi Apni - Noor Jehan - 3.14 min The 3:14 min version of this song has the second line of the last stanza cut short a bout of coughing. There is another version where that line (bujhaanii hai tere daaman se sham'a-e-zindagii apanii) is sung completely once, and the coughing cuts it short the second time it is sung. I am uploading the latter version here. While the length shows as 4:19 minutes, the song itself is about 3:30 mins; the first 40-odd seconds and the last two seconds are dialogue from the film. I haven't edited it because I have only an mp3 version (encoded @ 128 kbps), and re-encoding mp3 causes deterioration of the sound quality. If anyone can get it off the film without the dialogue bits, that would be great! The 3:14 version appears to be from the 78 rpm record. I wonder why they didn't record the song in the studio without the coughing! Warm regards, Abhay This post has been edited by abhayp: Aug 8 2011, 12:56 PM |

Uploading a version without dialogues for you from it. Noor Jehan Ji is someone to really cherish. What a voice, and what originality those stalwarts of this era had. Yes, I guess it is not very rare ![]() So here's the immortal song without dialogues: 128 kbps, 3.54 min Enjoy! Vidur |
