Thanks a ton - I had the song but the quality wasn't great. I have one correction and one question:

- The male singer isn't Motilal; he is another actor who was usually referred to as "Moti B A".
- I have always seen this song listed under the film 'Dil' (1946). Is that wrong.

Warm regards,
Abhay

Abhay,
I have this record (78 rpm) it self for the film Rasta..
on back of the same is "likhi naseeb mein hain thokare"
will check and see it may be Moti B A ..

As Zafar Khurshid is music director for the both films
Rasta and Dil..
I think he again used the two songs in the film
Rast 47..

regards,
-waheed

Yes, it is Moti B. A. Ji who was more famous as a lyricist. Please do upload Likhi Naseeb Mein, looking for it since a very long time. It is certainly by the same Moti B. A. Ji.

BTW, note that - Likhi Naseeb Mein was re - used in Rasta (which had songs of early Geeta Ji as well). The Noor Jehan Ji duet was only in Dil, because from 1946 - 1947 she did no playback (since she went to Pakistan at this time, if re - used this is obviously playback). Maybe the record of Dil was re - issued as for Rasta and the 2nd side (Noor Jehan Ji, Moti Ji duet) was left as it is, since Noor Jehan Ji went to Pakistan (and they would be unable to re - record). The heroine of this film, Rasta was Maya Devi Ji. Hope that clears the confusion.
