I will be uploading some melodious devotional songs of Bhimsen Joshi. BJ has resung and rerecorded many of these songs, but I like his earlier versions. It is my feeling that as years roll by his singing is being dominated more and more by Veera Rasa which does not go well with devotional songs. So with two exceptions, I am uploading only older versions. I am uploading two versions of Karuniso Ranga and there is another later version which I do not like very much. Dear Members,

There was One Music Mastero Late Pt Shree Shamachar Joshi (Pt Bhimsen Joshi's first Guru in the initial stage of his life. It was Pt Shamachar Joshi at Bagalkot who initially taught Pt Bhimsen Joshi when Bhimsen Joshi was brought back home by his father after he had left home to learn Sangeet.)

Pandit Shree Shamachar Joshi was a great Musician of Yester Years. He was vamshastha of
Shree Kakhandaki Mahipati Dasaru & was in Bagalkot for pretty long time. He was bachalor
throughout his life. He spent his last days with Shree Tirumalarao Deshpande of Hullikeri family
at Bagalkot & died there only.

Pt Shamachar Joshi was an AIR artist & Dasar keertanes sung by him were being broadcast on AIR Dharwad/Bangalore in Vandana Karyakrama at 7.00 am. I had just recorded his two rare contriburtions on my Radio-cum-Tape Recoder on a Tape & misplaced it for pretty Long time. By chance I could get the Tape last month & It was possible for me to get them converted in Digital media. I am uploading two songs by Late Pt Shree Shamachar Joshi & two songs of Pt Bhimsenji that appears to have been recorded in 78RPM Discs almost contemporarily for the benfit of Listners. There is so much resemblance in Raga Sanyojane that impact on each other is quite obivious.

It is said that four 78RPM Discs comprising 8 Songs by Late Pt Shamachar Joshi were recorded by HMV & may be available with old Generation or with AIR/HMV company etc. I shall be highly obliged if any body can throw more light on availabilty of Late Shree Shamachar Joshi's rest of the songs. I learn that one Song " Udupiya Krishnan Sadagar Noduva Nadiye Naari Mani " was most popular song sung by him.

Kindly let me know whether there are any agencies who can convert RPM78 songs in to MP3.
Digital Media so that they would be available for future generation too.

Kindly checkup availabilty of "Udupiya Krishnan Sadagar Noduva, Nadiye Nareemani" by
the same artist. If U get kindly send me the same.

I had heard this song long long back in 1950-60 played on HMV Grama-Phone.
Many Hotels used to play this song then.

The same song is subsequently sung by Shree Anant Kulkarni of Bagalkot & is available in
Tape form.

It is also recently sung by Smt Sangeeta (Katti) Kulkarni. I attaching the same below
