Starting a new thread on what other famous celebrities have to say about shankar Jaikishan !
Frds SJ's music might be very popular but their "own names" are hardly known outside music circles or beyond genuine music fans.Media too continues to ignore SJ's contribution to Hindi film music and keeps on promoting selected few ! In this thread I will be posting famous comments made by celebrities and artists on Shankar jaikishan. These comments are enough proof to know the caliber of Shankar Jaikishan ! and their MAMMOTH contribution to Hindi film music ! People may ignore what a SJ fan says but they cant ignore what these legends have to say about SHANKAR JAIKISHAN !  Here is what musical Giant Ilayaraja has to say about Shankar Jaikishan. Even for tamil song he gives example of a SJ song and praises them ! This is what he said ( Rough translation courtesy SJ fan Sivaram ji ) Ilayaraja Says : QUOTE The influence of melancholic love songs in film music has been enormous. There have been many good music directors who have excelled in giving us beautiful love songs. He then hums the tune of a famous tamil love song. He then says: Now look at the compositions of Shankar Jaikishan. Don't think of them as just hindi songs (he is talking to a tamil audience). Listen to the music (which has no barriers of language or culture - my addition) He then hums the tune of 'yeh shaam hi tanhaiyan'. He then concludes 'We must salute such music directors'.
