Dear friends,
Can someone clarify the above query of mine? I have raised this query because I have some evidence of it, but still am not 100% sure!!! ![]() Venkat This post has been edited by venkat: Jul 1 2009, 08:02 PM I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

venkatji,
thanks for bringing the two songs to the attention of many rafi sahab fans to this singer ahmed rushdi sahab. I have never heard of his name before and in the two songs there is a striking similarity to rafi sahab's 50's/60's voice. have googled/wikipedied about rushdi sahab and listened to one of his songs from mid 70's naseeb apna apna which apparently won awards, in this rushdi sahab sounds very different and no where near rafisahab, so it was the early years there was that similarity, rushdi saab also died at a very young age of 44, April 24, 1938 – April 11, 1983. |

venkatji, thanks for bringing the two songs to the attention of many rafi sahab fans to this singer ahmed rushdi sahab. Ahmed Rushdi sahab had his own famous style of singing. The song you are mentioning from Film Naseeb Apna Apna was released in 1969 and this is a very difficult song to sing.Rushdi sahab never copied Rafi sahab at any stage.Ahmed Rushdi's songs and singing style is being copied by many Indian singers.I have a lot of respect for Mohammad Rafi and Ahmed Rushdi and I expect same out of others. This is a stupid elegation that Rushdi copied Rafi. You listen his first song"Bander road se Kemari"(1954) to his last song "Ban ke Misra ghazal ka"(1983),no similarities will be there between Rafi sahab and Rushdi sahab.Just listen to this famous song Rushdi sahab sang in 1966.Thanks Versatile Ahmed Rushdi sings for great Waheed Murad |
