People usually associate OP Nayyar’s music with rhythms and fast numbers with the trademark “tonga” beats. Even though, he was not a classically trained musician, OP Nayyar has composed some memorable classical songs for Hindi movies. Here I am uploading 5 such songs of this great composer.

O.P.'s first two films 'Raagini' and 'Kalpana' (I don't know whether they were chronologically his first two) were fully classical-based. In fact, we have the unusual spectacle of Kishore singing (onscreen) 'Man mora baavra' in Rafi's voice.
Here's another lovely gem from Raagini - 'chhota sa balma, ankhiyan neend chura le gayo'... in raga Tilang. Singer - Asha Bhonsle film - Ragini year - 1958 lyrics - Qamar Jalalabadi Music - O.P. Nayyar bit rate - 160 kbps duration - 3:10 Self - belief is the most potent force.

O.P.'s first two films 'Raagini' and 'Kalpana' (I don't know whether they were chronologically his first two) were fully classical-based. Raagini (1957) and Kalpana (1960) were definitely not O P Nayyar's first two films. He started in 1952 with Aasman and had at least 15 releases before Raagini.
