Dear friends,
Can someone clarify the above query of mine? I have raised this query because I have some evidence of it, but still am not 100% sure!!! ![]() Venkat This post has been edited by venkat: Jul 1 2009, 08:02 PM I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

OK, listen to this duet on the following link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni7uGlzdkPo...feature=related This duet is from a Pakistani film called "Dil Ne Tujhe Maan Liya (1963)". The song is: "Kyon Huzur Kyon, Yeh Hurur Kyon".The MD is one Masleduddin. Firstly, hats off to the MD for such a very nice composition, comparable to the best such old Hindi (Indian) songs. Ok, now, in my humble view, the male singer in this duet performs exactly like Rafi Saab (a.his voice of the late fifties/early sixties, b. his expressions, c. his adaayen, d. the throw, the diction, etc.) Well, I know that some of you would tell me that it is actually AHMED RUSHDI, a Hyderabad-Andhrapradesh born Pakistani singer. But, the point is that I have listened to at least 5 or 6 of Ahmed Rushdi's other songs just now and his performance in those 5 or 6 other songs is quite different and not exactly like Rafi Saab. Hence, my theory/question is the following: Some Pakistani MDs have actually got Rafi Saab to sing some(maybe two or three) of their songs, but credited those under the name of AHMED RUSHDI????? (Probably because the Pakistani govt. would not take kindly to the name of an Indian singer, those days????) Venkat PS. The idea is just to discuss and explore the truth. Shall be grateful for views and am open to corrections.
