Nope. Can't tell and no one else seems to know either....who is he ![]() ![]() In 1942 Czechoslovakia, SS-General Reinhard Heydrich is appointed to become the Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. The terror and oppression that follow cause Allied authorities in London to authorize a secret mission to kill the man who has come to be known as "The Butcher of Prague". The film explores shows the operation leading up to Heydrich's death as well as the massive German reprisals that followed it. ( IMDB) During World War 2 a squad of Czech expatriates are parachuted into Czechoslovakia in order to assassinate the German governor Reinhard Heydrich. Operation Daybreak, based on a true story, details the preparations, execution, and aftermath of this operation. (IMDB) Dear Faraaj...the film Operation daybreak is one of my very special movies. In my adolescence it enchanted me..and in my youth, i just loved it for the Deja vu situations...Please try to watch it when you have leisure..and enjoy the film to the very end...actually based on real life happening..I often wonder why today's big budget movies dont impart that kind of impact ! TIMOTHY BOTTOMS was the hero..if he can be called that..for that film. but otherwise not a great figure.. ![]() Trying to find out about the stalwart on theatre and Cinema..and the crime drama i missed out..but the face looks.......very very familiar . ![]() After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Timothy Bottoms actually starred in one of my probably top-50 favourite films - The Last Picture Show. This was just one of four classics Peter Bogdanovich made, the others being Targets, Paper Moon and What's Up Doc? before he lost his golden touch. Timothy Bottoms also starred in The Paper Chase. Looking at the reviews for Daybreak on IMDB, they are really very good and I really get the feeling this is another "lost" classic.....I've seen several unknown but great films......and I don't use the word great lightly! Here's a hint: The stalwart appeared in the best adaptation of a Patricia Highsmith novel. And decades later in a biopic as a truly evil person portrayed in a "relatively" sympathetic light.....you have to guess now!!! ![]() Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. H. Auden |
