This actor is one of the finest alive. More acclaimed and attuned to the theatre, he has appeared in varying supporting roles in many films of moderate to indifferent quality. However, he enjoyed prominent roles in two classics - one from the 70s and the other recent - and he has carved his name in history with those two performances. His two brilliant movies and performances will NOT be forgotten. One is a highly controversial (and realistic) biopic. The other is a superb adaptation of a famous crime novel. He is the heart of both films.
