Mamta (1966)
Mamta was a critically acclaimed movie that also fared well at the box office. Much of this it owed to its fine story, great acting, and some magnificent music by Roshan. All songs were huge hits. My favorite is the duet of Lata and Hemant. I am loading all the songs from a CD. The duet "Rahen Na Rahen" is due to the Forum members. Now for a description of the songs and the songs themselves ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: May 19 2009, 02:08 AM Attached image(s) ![]() |

Mamta (1966) I am loading all the songs from a CD but per EarthMusic I am still missing two songs shown in red italics in the table below. Requesting the Forum members to share if they hae these songs. Swarapriya ji, aapko "thank you" bolna is like sooraj ko diya dikhaana ![]() The concise, but apt descriptions you garnish your threads with are like sone pe suhaaga. My hat truly, and wholeheartedly goes off to you ma'am. Regarding your query, "Vikal Mora Manawa" is actually a raagamaala in three parts. It starts with "Hum Gawanawa Na Jaibe Ho," (raaga ?) moves into "Sakal Ban Gagan Pawan Chalat" (raaga Bahar), and then comes the "proper song" in raaga Pilu, "Vikal Mora Manawa Tum Bin." The song was used in the movie to signify the protagonists' growing musical prowess and the passage of time. The audio you've uploaded has all three parts of the maala. You are not missing any songs. In fact I had, about six months back, asked for "Sakal Ban Gagan" here, thinking it's full song while I already had it as part of the raagamaala, as "Vikal Mora Manawa" in my library ! Abhay (Phadnis) uploaded it for me and supplied all the information above. Thank you once again for sharing your treasure with us. Warm regards, Saksham.
