Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle have sung more than 70 songs with each other (either as duets or as group songs). I'm uploading a few relatively lesser known songs.

Tod De Tu Is Bandhan Ko Film: Dil AUr Deewar (1978) MD: Laxmikant Pyarelal Duration: 05:13 bitrate: 64 kbps 4. Firstly, a big thanks to Aditya sir for starting this thread. The songs he has uploaded are really the 'lesser known gems' of the two.
Also, this is the right place for my next song request The song I'm looking for is a rare version of an otherwise popular song. The version of 'Sakhi Ri Sun Bole Papiha Us Paar' from 'Miss Mary' (1957) that I have, has just one antraa. Now IIRC, I remember reading somewhere that another version of the song was released, with two antraas. Many sites list the lyrics of the second antraa as something like..."bairi aisi dhun mein bole". This version however misses all the taankaari(?). Anyone having this version of the song is requested to please upload it here. Thanks in advance. Regards, Saksham This post has been edited by Saki: Nov 29 2008, 12:52 AM |

Today I decided to dust-off my old audio cassette collection, and found this version in an HMV compilation. I will digitize it shortly and upload it. Aditya My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com

Aditya Here is the second version of Sakhi Ri Sun Bole. It does have an extra stanza, but the duration is the same. It seems to me that this version has become a victim of the infamous HMV-style random editing of songs in compilations. This is very obvious in the first interlude when the sisters are singing the sargam and there's an abrupt jump, and then again in the first stanza where the delightful repitition of the first line by Lata is gotten rid of in the second version. Maybe, Hemant Kumar did cut down on line repititions and variations in the second version, but to me it seems more of HMVs doing. Anyway, this version is worth keeping just for the additional stanza which is quite rare. Aditya My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com
