There is no bio and very little that I could piece together by way of filmography for the almost unknown Ram Ganguly. I have only six of his songs - two in low bit-rate. I'll be uploading the remaining four shortly. None of the six songs I have heard are ordinary so whatever the reason for his anonymity, Ram Ganguly was undoubtedly a talented composer.
It took a bit of effort to piece together this filmography and there would certainly be errors/missing films. Please point them out and I'll correct the filmography. I'm uploading the two best songs of Aag (1948) - Zinda Hoon Is Tarah and Dekh Chand Ki Orh Musafir (78 rpm Shamshad version, film had Meena Kapoor vocals). Both are mp3/192 kbps CDQ.
I am also uploading the lovely Teri Yaad Ka Deepak Jalta Hai from Gawaiya (1954). This is a tandem song. The Surendra Nath version - in my opinion his single best song - appears to be less well-known, even though his version is much better that the Talat version. The Surendra version was uploaded by Mahesh Bhai a few months back on my request. The audio could be improved so if anyone has it in better audio, please upload it here. Enjoy!
