Buddy Humtum,

I am still reeling under the intoxicating music of 'Thoda sa Roomani Ho Jaye'. Its difficult to put it down, however it had also envoked quite a querries regarding the muscial team of this movie. Do you or some other forum members enlighten us regarding the MD (Bhaskar Chandavarkar) & the lead singers?

Is the MD related to Leena Chandavarkar (4th wife of Kishore Kumar)? From which part of India does he comes from? I am inquisitive to understand, what might be the influence to come up with such classic music, which has a contemporary music sense. It closely resembles Tagore's 'Rabindra Music; I must say. (Incidently '1942 a Love Story' (1994) & Shantanu Moitra's Parineeta were also heavily laced with Rabindra muisc). I got to learn a little tit-bits abt him here:http://www.tribuneindia.com/1999/99sep10/art-trib.htm However I would love to know more about him.

The singers, as far as I know 'Chaya Ganguli' sounds bengali, however is she active on bangla music industry like Arati Mukherjee? I never get to hear any of her bangla music though. The only other songs of hers I am aware of is the classic jaidev's Gaman song .. 'Raat Baar'

Milind Ingle, another singer is the one who came up with a private album 'Yeh hain Prem'. I absolutely loved all his compositions in that album. Do you guys know of any other such songs from his stable?

I would love to get more such music from this gifted MD.

P.S I often wonder why Illiyaraja, MM Keervani, Uttam Singh & Hridayanath are not coaxed by movie makers to give more music in Hindi Films. They had so much to offer to us.
