I have had the pleasure of meeting GB.
Gulshan Bawra - whose name is actually Gulsham Kumar Mehra is amonst the unsung lyricts of HFM but that fact that he has penned about 250 songs songs in a career spanning for more than 4 decades is a testimony of the quality factor of his songs. It is hard to find one meaningless song penned by him. The song Mere Desh ki Dharti is amonsgt his best. His first song was sung by Lata ji and he is a great fan and friendof Rafisaab. My favorite songs penned by him are from filsm like Upkaar, Haath Ki safai, Zanjeer and Adalat. He has worked mostly with KA and RDB. He has also given special and guest appearances in films. I have some wonderful information about Gulshan and Rafisaab during the recording of the song in Zanjer. Happy to share if you guys are interested.
