Over a period of time, I will be posting a number of Amit Kumar’s rarely heard songs (in *.rm format). Do keep checking. I do hope these have not been uploaded before. The song library indicates only 4 references to Amit kumar.

(This is response to member Arjun’s post in a different topic) I convert all my mp3 files to real media (*.rm 28 kbps best music) through Jetaudio convertor available freely over the net because it saves uploading time appreciably. Although the file size is low, the sound quality is not compromised. These files can be easily reconverted to cd quality through Nero wave editor (not available freely) directly to mp3 format up to 320 khz or AudioGrabber 1.83 (converting to wav and than to mp3 through Lame encoder - upto 320 khz) which is a freeware.

This song was later edited out or not used in the film.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember for which film it was recorded.

Also guys everyone remembers KS version for this song, because those were heydays of KS and Amit Kumar was going on a down.

So, Time Magnetics gave the AK version initially in the cassettes and then they completely removed the AK song even from the single cassette of the movie.

I was totally taken by surprise being a DHF of Amit Kumar and I used to religiously follow every number sung by him, the AK version according to me is a lot better sung than the other one.. but still it had to undergo bias due to petty politics. (Without getting into the controversy here ).

So I reckon there would be many HF members who would be listening to AK version today, as it is not available. Even today whenever I see the CD or cassette of Imtihan in music stores, the AK version is missing..

It is extremely sad. Despite the fact that all these years of putting in his best efforts in every song he has had a chance to perform, uplifting each composition from mediocre to sublime, fans (and music directors) all over the world still continue to view Amit Kumar in the shadow of his legendary father.There are innumerable songs, beautiful compositions, if they had been rendered by Amit, would have made the songs eternal.
