Friends,
Uploading here, for all you classical music fans, are songs I digitally remastered from a rare gem of a Vinyl LP of the acclaimed Kannada movie, ' Hamsageethe' by the late great G.V.Iyer. The movie came out in 1970s starring another Kannada great, Anant Nag in the lead role, was very good. Anant Nag was flat-out superb in the role of a Yogi & Classical musician and the direction by Iyer was excellent. The music itself stands out separate. G.V.Iyer, before he passed away, claimed that the music was actually scored by T.G.Lingappa, while in public when the movie came out, the credit went to Dr.Balamuralikrishna since neither Lingappa nor B.V.Karanth ( who scored the background music ) were willing to accept it. This is one of those movies where it is hard to critique because its a first-rate job all around. I am sure people who have seen this movie would agree. Enjoy! --- Bear |
