Among my collection of 78 RPM records, there is one which has instrumental music of two songs of My Sister, Aye Qatib-e-Tqadir and Chhupo Na Chhupo Na. The Record has the legendary New Theatres logo of two elephants and the label suggests that the music recorded is by New Theatres Orchestra.
For the connoissures of the music of the bygone era, here are the two songs, straight from the heavens. The sort of music, one would want to hear for one last time when the time comes to say good bye to this materialistic world. |

Hi R&D and Pradeepji,
Many thanks for the prompt replies and beautiful uploads. I did look into the Pankaj Mullick website but couldn't find the information regarding these pieces. Anyway, I think it is likely Pankaj Mullick was coordinating the orchestra as he was the MD as well and sang songs in hisvoice before getting Saigal to record the same for "My Sister". Thank you very much. MKH |
