Database Of Songs Of Geeta Ji, ..Take a look and please help ! Options

Hi All,

I am posting a master list of all the songs posted in the last 3 months on some of the song sharing threads on Geeta Dutt forum. I will keep updating this list as more songs are shared !

Firstly, thanks a lot for all the hard work you've put together to make the list count to ~550.

I find it hard to find what I need on this forum, with so much data (thanks to fans!) but some how seemingly unorganized (no offenses meant ) as it seems to me. Much of it is endowed to my busy schedule which prohibits me to be all that regular. But I hope time will settle this issue.

I have exported the list above to excel, cleaned it, filled some informations (movie years etc, but no new entry) and have put it up on Google Docs.

Those interested in editing it for adding new entries, correcting other information etc are welcomed to do so. For that I'll need to give permission. So feel free to drop me a mail regarding that at

A few quick note for who-so-ever it may concern:
1. All songs have "Geeta Dutt" as first singer entry.
2. Unknown years have been replaced with 19??, 195? or likewise.
3. "Mohammad" has been changed to "Mohd."
4. Geeta Roy has been changed to Geeta Dutt. Let her name be as we know it and seclude it from her personal life, getting married in this case.
5. Abbreviated have been used without dots like "G M Durrani" instead of "G. M. Durrani" or any other convention used elsewhere.
6. Singer names are now separated with commas and not with the word or symbols viz. and, & etc. & Chorus has been used for chorus.
7. All cases used are proper like in the following line.
This Line Is Written In Proper Case With First Letter Of Each Word Capital.

For editing in future please comply by the conventions used. No vandalism please.

You are welcome to point out the shortcomings of the list.

I was also thinking about adding lyricist column if that is not much of a pain. It will get finished in its own time.

Thanks to Parag again for initiating this.

Now a personal question: How can I get all these songs. My own collection misses a lot from these. More importantly almost all of my songs are in 128kbps mp3. I am keen to upgrade them to 192kbps mp3 or better. So if someone has got audio CDs (note: not mp3) please rip at better bitrate.
