Subir, I got some details about this Manna dey song from my neighbor..
It is from the Kannada film 'Kalavathy' released in the early sixties.. It had actors Kalyan kumar, Lata ,Jayanti and others ..The song was picturised on Kalyan kumar and this film also had a song sung by Suman kalyanpur 'Odanadi bekendu' picturised on Jayanti.. Subir The lyricist or more apt would be poet of this song seems to be none other than our great Rastrakavi Kuvempu(K V Puttappa) and the music director is the legedary G K Venkatesh. These songs are very rare & not found on the internet, but may be in some private collections. By the way one more great song Jayate Jayate Satyameva jayate sung by Manna da, also seems to be from the same movie. |
