Twin Songs Options

twin songs are songs that meet the following criteria.

male and female version or solo and duet or happy and sad version.

I will start with the first set. Anyone is welcome to add

Dear Lakshmi,
A good effort at making HFers start thinking..thinking..I want to add, whenever one comes across a twin number where one of the singers is Lataji, she is undoubtedely better than her counterpart,I suppose u will agree.This particular song falls in a category of twin songs where the aforementioned notion does not stand true !!!

3 jayen to jayen kahan- talat
4 mujhko is raat ki tanhai mein- mukesh
5 rimjhim gire sawan- kishore
6 teri ankhon ke siva-rafi
7 zindagi bhar nahi bhulegi-rafi, lata's version is I think a duet with Rafi, but still rafi's solo is mindblowing
8 mere mehboob- rafi
9 hamen aur jeene ki chahat -kishore
10 yeh raat yeh chandani- hemant , lata's version is exactly not the same but Hemant kumar
11 samay ae dheere- rudali - asha
12 jis dil mein basa tha pyar tera- saheli mukesh

I dont remember more right now.. there are many many... and the BIGGEST EXAMPLE is KUCH NA KAHO... a singer(??????????) like kumar sanu sounds much better in this song

but if you compare Geeta with others, Geeta's versions sound better.. two examples

1 na yeh chand hoga- shart
2 hai ye duniya kaunsi- sailab
in both cases, hemant was the counterpart

Thanks Shama for such a perfect analysis.

Rather its a very well know fact that Lata ji's number has always been less effective in case of tandem songs. (This small little thing does not demean her status of numero ono female singer of HFM in any ways. I myself love hundreds of her songs..No harm intended at all !)

This issue was dicussed in detail in RMIGM (did I get that acronym correctly ?) and it was a firm conclusion that the other singer's tandem version is better when Lata ji has sung the tandems.

Many of die-hard fans of Lata ji also agree to this.
