The Pole Star once was Thuban (3000 B.C.), the third star from the end of the tail in Draco.
In a little more than 5,000 years from now, Alderamin, the brightest star in the constellation Cepheus, will be almost the Pole Star. About 7,000 years from now, Deneb, the brightest star in Cygnus, will be the pretender for the Pole Star for a while. In about 12,000 years from now, Vega, the brightest star in Lyra, will be the Pole Star. Vega will be a brilliant Pole Star some six times brighter than Polaris. There are long periods when there is no Pole Star at all. At the present time there is no Pole Star in the southern sky. Self - belief is the most potent force.

As per Vedic-Astronomy->
-Planets along with respective satelite/s Revolve around Sun -Sun along with all its planets Revolves around Polar Star -Polar Star along with Solar Families (there are many solar systems like ours) Revolves around Abhijit Star -Abhijit Star Along with Polar stars(there can be many polar star) Revolves around ???? Ancient Seers Analysis goes upto Abhijit Star. After eons, when Hanuman comes out of 'Samaadhi' on Gandhmaadan Mountain, He looks towards sky & after seeing the position of Polar Star & Saptrishi Mandal, He calculated the total period from Ram's Departure Day to till day & says 'Treta Yug has passed & now this Dwaapar Yug is also near end'. Based on these facts, position of Polar star changes due to revolvement of solar system & in place of North Polar Star some other brighten star appears, HENCE theory described by our wise magician seems true.
