Some are versions of the hindi songs.. more so coz it is a remake of the hindi movie.. while some have been blatantly copied!
Let us list or u/l songs of both versions (for comparison only.. even a clip of the antara should suffice) N |

 Welcome to our humble small board  Yes it is the same song - Kannaaaaaaaaaa karumai neera kannaaaaaaaaaa unnai kaanatha kann illaiyeeeeeeeee from Nanum Oru Penn ( I am a girl too) - The hindi was the remake of the tamil movie - with the senior actor acting in both tamil/hindi and I think there was a telugu version too. SV Rangaiah a well known actor of great calibre. KAVERI KAR IRKE<------------- which song is this? It sounds like malayalam! N  |

N That song means something like: On the bank of River Caveri, there is a girl like flower.. ??? .. let me give you some wordings some of which I may still remember about forty years: KAVERI KAR IRKK KARMELE POOVIRKK... POO POLE PENNRIKK.. PALTAWANTA PALMIRKE.. something like the above. Of course the wordings and spellings may be very different because I used to sing that four decades ago to impress my tamil friends.
