My eldest son is planning to study Engineering / Computers next year after completing his 10 + 2 from CBSE.

Could you please recomend the best universities - rather the best value universities in the midwest and north region of the US and /or the Ontario region of Canada.

If any one has studied or is still a student in this region I would definitely like to hear from you. Please reply on the forum or you may PM me.

Best Regards

Nature,
Thanks for your detailed reply, I am working in a similar approach as you have suggested to apply to all levels of universities to ensure addmission.

My son will appear in the SAT very shortly and he has already appeared in the TOFEL. Once the exams are done we will finalize our list.

Sincere thanks again for taking time out to write.

I will post any questions if needed.

Best Regards

Billu Ji,
I was reading through some posts. Seems your son would be applying to undergrad as opposed to grad school that I studied from. A good way to start off is to look at sites like
www.usnews.com
www.princetonreview.com.
They will give u a good idea about the engg programs.

Typically, U/G programs in the US dont pay any schols.so that might be a factor to look at. I would say schools in Texas are among the less expensive schools with good education. Rankings do not matter a lot. If u app to schools in top 50, u shld be good to go.
Rankings rather working with certain faculty members matters when applying to gradschools that too more for PhDs.
