I thought I should share with you, for a change, some instrumental pieces. I am starting off with 3 pieces of Fusion Music. Hope it appeals to you. Would welcome some feedback.
Here's track 1. Cheers! If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Excellent description, Unni. Now, let me add an audio file that corroborates very well what is said in Unni's post. I have understood most about modes, notes, tempo, drone support, aaroha and avaroh, and other such elements listening to it than by reading anywhere. A must listen for any one trying to understand ragas - An Introduction to Indian Music. Examples galore by Ravi Shankar.. anurag Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living". I fear if I examined it, then according to Heisenberg uncertainty principle it would somehow change. After all, we are just particles.
