Connect from your tape-player's 'out' socket to the 'line-in' of the computer. For this connection, you'll need suitable wire with the right size of heads at either end. Use freeware, e.g. Goldware to record the track as it plays on the tape-deck, setting the source as "Line-In". The track will be saved on your computer as a .wav file which you can convert to mp3 or WMA with freeware, e.g. Cheetah Audio Converter. If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.
