Memory Mellows Time, Nostalgic Old Songs Of Asha Bhosle Options

In keeping with the purpose of this forum as a tribute to the Legends of Hindi Film Music, this thread is devoted to nostalgic songs of Asha-ji.

My contribution to this thread is in the form of better sound-quality tracks of those melodious old songs with which 'Kachha Dhaaga' started in the Asha Bhosle forum.

All tracks are at 128 kbps, sound-edited and set to the 'default' volume level of Musicmatch. The song tags commence with the year of the movie, so that we can file the tracks in chronological order.

Members are requested to participate in this thread and upload their own contributions.

Skipping 1951 (the only nice song I have in good quality is humein chodke na jaana from Pyaar Ki Batein) and moving to 1952 where there are some songs I am very fond of. One is that divinely romantic song with Hemant Kumar (woh chand nahin hai dil hai kisi deewane ka) where Asha joins in with the concluding antara.

Here is a beauty of a song provided by Mahesh (Drsaab). I fell in love with this simple love ditty the minute I heard it. Hope those who have not heard it before will love it too.

Priya!! I love this song too! and "woh chand nahin hai dil hai". Our choices are quite similar I didn't download it as I already have it (courtesy Mahesh). But I will rank this song as one of the Asha's top ten

Haan, otherwise we have similar choices. I cannot tire of woh chaand nahin hai. Did U hear a duet with Bula C Rani from Haseena that I had uled a while back. Not as good as woh chand but in the same vein I feel.

BTW Tamasha has 2 solos by Asha, 2 by Lata and one by Rajkumari, right? Any more songs--male singers?

No! . This forum is so huge now that I dont have time to browse through all the sub-forums , I have missed lots of songs. And you know another tragedy that happened with me ? I burned many downloaded songs on CDs in case if my harddrive crashes and deleted them from my harddrive. But.....! Whenever I try to play those data CD's, it says CDs are corrupted or damaged. So I lost all my precious collection downloaded from HF . People burn it on CDs bcoz their hardrives are less reliable and they crash... on my end it is vice versa . My harddrive is more reliable.... I copied some of the songs from Data Cd's (which can still be played) and added them back to my harddrive. I have to look for some other mass storage device as CD's DVD's etc are not my type bcoz even a little scratch destroys whole collection and I am very careless. But my burnt CD's dont even have a scratch, I dont know why they wont play . It is such a loss . I will buy another harddrive or Zip drive or something like that. Thats why I prefer tapes over CDs bcoz even if a tape gets broken you can join it with scotch tape and save the songs, but not with CD, once it is gone it is gone!

Tamasha has 1 solo by Asha, 1 by Lata, 1 by Rajkumari, 1 by Geeta , 1 By Kishore Kumar and a duet of Asha with some unknown singer.

Duet kaunsi hai? I remember getting all the songs from Mahesh but do not remember a duet. There are 2 Asha solos--the other is koi jal jal mare, a very ordinary one. 2 Lata solos bhi hai--armanon ki nagri and bhool sake na hum.

Yes, I browsed them. I didn't burned them as Audio CDs, I burned them as Data Cds and each CD has more than 300 songs. Somehow, some of the songs including "Neeli Neeli Ankhien Meri" (maybe this song loves me as much as i love him ) can still be played , so I transferred them back to my Harddisk. And as a further precaution, I even recorded this song on cassette, bcoz Inaam vowed not to upload such type of songs in the future

Hahaha! It is my computer chair, i can't! And it is not the fault of chair, it is my fault for being so careless for letting my CD's lay on carpet

I have the Shamshad Golden Col (both discs) and also all the songs available on hamaracd. If U tell me the titles will PM or ul for U. The rest U can mourn.

I only broke disk 2. And I got most of the songs from other collections. I only need "Ek do Teen" from that collection. Most collections have this song with that annoying background noise of some guyz playing (filmtrack version), but the golden collection set released the clean 78rpm version with the censored parts included "Sambhal kai khidki khol balamva dekhey mera baap re" which got deleted from film version.
