Burman-Mohd. Rafi. R.D. Burman (also known as Panchamda to his many fans) was in my opinion a very versatile music director. He brought about a new trend and sound to film music. He was one of the greatest tune-smiths out of the second-generation composers of the Golden Era. His variety and music was excellent, he experimented with his compositions, and his songs have a lasting value. For me RD Burman is one of my Top favourite composers of all time. Pancham had a special place for Rafi saab in his repetoire and Rafi saab was his second most used male singer after Kishore Kumar. The RD-Rafi output is an important chapter in the history of HFM and they produced many golden melodies together. It was through Rafi saab that Pancham made a mark in the world of music and broke through into the big league of composers. Similar to the SJ-Rafi thread, this thread will not only be for songs, but also for trivia and any other snippets, articles etc. related to the RD-Rafi combination. Again, if you have any requests or anything you would like to add, feel free to do so here. I hope every Rafian enjoys the RD-Rafi combination as much as I do ! Prince Ali

Dedicated Member Group: Members Posts: 1128 Joined: 3-May 05 Member No.: 2238	u r very correct riddler saheb, i beg my pardon. actually, while writing the names i forgot to add many which i did later, i was not able to recall that's why i wrote "i am not sure". i have added the 2 great music directors that u listed ... thanks for reminding me the names. --------------------------- after "teesri manzil", i guess "hum kisise kam nahin" is another great composition of pancham, and rafi's marvelous performance with him, especially the 2 songs 1. chaand mera dil 2. kya hua tera wada other 2 songs from teesri manzil are also added. 3. deewana mujhsa nahin 4. tumne mujhe dekha from the movie caravan: 5. kitna pyara wada Jo Milte hain, voh nahi milte Aur Jo Nahi Milte, Vohin Vaastav mein milte hai Kaaran jo hai, voh nahi hai Aur jo nahi hai, vohin hai. Ye keval Shabdo ki heraa-pheri nahi hai Aur heraa-pheri hain bhi Yehin Darshan hai Aur isi hone naa hone, milne naa milne ke beech mein maayaa kaa samudra hai
