Last weekend I spent 2 awesome days in the ruins of Vijayanagar Kingdom in Hampi.
The expanse of the kingdom is something to be seen. The history comes alive in front of eyes when you see the broken structures that were once great monuments. It is sad to see how destruction can take a toll on the rich memoirs of our history ![]() For people who do not know where Hampi is - Hampi is in northern part of Karnataka. ![]() The environs of Hampi ![]() |

Hanuman carved on the pillars - Achutraya Temple (named after the King) ![]() Entrances of the temple.. you can see the top part of the entrance has been destroyed(bricks were used to construct the top dome and has probably been destroyed during the wars and further affected by the weathering) ![]() ![]() |
