Dear Noor Jehan Fans!
Madam Noor Jehan reigned supreme over the South Asian music scene for more than six decades. On the occasion of her 5th death anniversary, I would like to post a glossy overview of her work as a singer. In this thread, I will mention the best songs of each year from 1939 to 1999 (60 years) and will share a song from each year as song of the year. If I were to select Song of the Year, I would have
without slightest hesitation picked up her greatest
ever song 'diyaa jalaa kar aap bhujaayaa'.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing Urzung Sahib. "Diya jala kar aap bhujaayaa" is also 1 of my most fav songs of NJ.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing Urzung Sahib. "Diya jala kar aap bhujaayaa" is also 1 of my most fav songs of NJ.

It is also a most fav song of Lata Ji well. I think it is a tedious and arduous task to select only a single song from a lot of her enchanting melodies.
