I am as culpable as anybody else when it comes to duplication of U/L's. But for some of us who joined the forum recently, the [I]repeated upload is when we first downloaded[/I] the song. In all honesty, I don't usually go to Song Library to download songs.

When we repeat U/L's, the one person it affects is Chitralekha, since she does the unenviable job of adding the songs to the Library. IMHO, if we draw to her attention that it is a repeat, then the repeated upload should not make much of a difference, except for the memory it takes up on the server. In this regard, Pradeep may want to put in his thoughts.

On C's part, I am sure she does the best she can in terms of time available. But when there are "kambakhts" like me who deluge the forum, poor thing, she cannot possibly keep up.

A song may have been uploaded. It might still not be in the Library. And quite innocently, you or I may U/L it again. If so, it would be helpful if members like Flex would kindly draw to attention that it is a repeat, to bring it to the attention of C'lekha too.

Yet when a different or better version is uploaded, IMHO we should welcome it and not treat it as a repeat.
