Maheshbhai..will upload the desired songs tonight.
Here is a top hit of its time. MERE CHHOTEY SE MAN MAIN CHHOTI SI DUNIYA RE The song is picturised on MUMTAZ SHANTI. Other known faces seen in the song are ULHAS and the child artist SURESH (Later on he acted as hero in many movies). Movie BASANT (1942) Singer Parul Ghosh Music Pannalal Ghosh..the Bansuri maestro Lyrics Pyarelal Santoshi In this movie there is a song picturised on a child star who later on became the most beautiful heroine of the Hindi Cinema. This was, therefor, her first movie. When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others

This was, therefor, her first movie. mahesh thanks so much for all your lovely videos. the last one - from BASANT - brought back so many memories from my childhood days. we had this song on 78rpm record and it was a popular one at home. I still remember very vividly - Pannalal Ghosh (the M.D. of this movie) used to live down the road from where we used to live, in Calcutta - and used to conduct flute classes there. Parul Ghosh, as many may know, was his wife and the sister of Music director Anil Biswas. another bit of info - related to the 'most beautiful' heroine mentioned in your post. No arguments about the fact that she was the most beautiful. However, IMDB records the first film of Madhubala (born as Mumtaz Jehan Begum on Valentine's Day 1933), as Baghdad ka chor (1934) where she is credited as 'Mumtaz' and her second film as 'Shaheed-e-muhabbat' (1936) where she was again credited as Mumtaz. Basant (1942) is listed as her 3rd film, where she is credited as 'Baby Mumtaz' (for the first time). Strangely, her 4th film, when she was still 11, was Mumtaz Mahal !! Later, in 1947 when she was 14, she got her first major break via Kidar Sharma in Neel kamal opposite Raj Kapoor - but was still credited as Mumtaz (as per IMDB). Another film in 1947, where she is credited as 'Madhubala', is the film 'Dil ki Rani' - where, again, she acted with Raj Kapoor. I think this was probably her first film using her 'to-become-very-famous' name. In 1949, of course, came the famous role in Mahal. Then, later in 1950, she acted in a film called 'Madhubala' - with Dev Anand !! Interesting ? By the way, Mahesh ... any chance of getting the video of that song from Basant - picturised on the 'most famous' heroine - who was still a child star at that time ??? Sri "Jis din is duniya se nafrat aur khudgarzi mit jaayegi, us roz yeh insaan naachega, us roz yeh dharti gaayegi" - Rajinder Krishan (Maa baap 1959)
