Reasonably Rare Rafi Songs - Not Available Easily, rare solos & duets from the 50s and 60s Options

Starting this topic to discuss some not so easily available songs featuring Mohd. Rafi - from the 1950s and 60s

Please feel free to add songs which you like.

Here's one song I found in the film 'Akeli mat jaiyo' 1963 where Rafi partners Asha Bhosle - they sing for Agha and Minoo Mumtaz respectively. The movie stars Rajendra Kumar and Meena Kumari, has music by Madan Mohan ( a few pretty good songs ) and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. This song is a typical, humorous type, romantic song between the two sidekicks in the movie.

Here's a Rafi song i like from the film Benazir 1964 - picturised on Shashi Kapoor.. with Tanuja and her saheli trying to peep into his room and listening to him singing

Music is by SDBurman ( RD fans may note - he was the assistant music director for this film - like he was, for many SDB movies of that period ). This also has the relatively rare combo of SDB's music with lyrics of Shakeel Badayuni

Thanks a lot for this song. Really a nice one. Perfect match of Rafi and S.D. Burman whose songs in my opinion are very difficult to sing.
By the way, as a non Indian, I liked the songs of S. D. Burman. He apparently has a unique style.

Kistin,

S D Burman and Mohd Rafi made magic together (like several other such combos) and had innumerable hits.

The movie Benazir was not among SDBurman's best known movies and the song you liked was also, therefore, a little rare. Unfortunately the other songs of the film are not sung by Rafi ( there are a couple of good ones sung by Lata Mangeshkar ).

Will try and add some of this combo's rarer ones on this thread for you - meanwhile if you can tell me some of the songs you have liked - it will help me to select suitable ones which you may like
