Rar is suppose to compress more and it also automatically joins split files when placed together sequentially in the same directory.

however winrar/winzip are commercial software to compress/decompress.

there is a freeware which does both and many more of these compressed format.

after u intall it it becomes part of ur windows explorer- the minute u right click on a

.zip or .rar it will ask u if u want to see the contents,extract here/elsewhere or make another directory etc.

same way if its any other file it will ask you if u want to add it to a existing zip file or make a new one- it's very smooth- it does not add a new window- it finishes the task the way u want it -without a nag screen
