Here are two great Classic Movie soundtracks from the 1970s, perhaps two of the best Kannada movies of all time, " Sandhyaraaga " and " Upaasane ".

G.V.Iyer not only directed Sandhyaraaga, he penned two of the songs and has compositions by greats like Music Director G.K. Venkatesh and Karnataka Classical Vidwan Dr.M.Balamurali Krishna. Sung by Bheemsen Joshi and
Balamurali himself.

" Upaasane" is another personal favourite of mine. Director Puttanna Kanagaal (who brought Kannada film Industry to the national level with movies on social causes that touched everyone) has the then-famous actress Aarathi
as the leading lady that shot to fame with a sterling performance in this movie whose climatic scene was shot in Kanyakumari.
Puttanna ended up marrying Aarathi down the road and after their divorce ( oh well, what else is new? ) Arathi ended up in America!
Music Director Vijayabhaskar blends in Classical music and folk with an unbelievable craftmanship. I hope you folk will enjoy these timeless classics......
