Rom, the answer is B. Mahatma Gandhi was nominated 5 times 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and 1948. Unfortunately for some controversial reasons he was never given the award. In fact it is popularly believed that if he Gandhiji had been alive in 1948, he would have been conferred the award.
