Geeta Or Meena Kapoor, identify the voices

Dedicated Member Group: Away Posts: 1684 Joined: 31-May 04 From: new delhi Member No.: 508	hello friends, i am uploading two versions of ''ek dharti hai ek hai gagan'' which occur at two different points in the film ''adhikar''picturised on two different actresses. hfgk lists the songs as asha and meena kapoor.'' the meena kapoor version was relesed in a compilation of meena kapoor about a decade back. while asha has sung not sung the song.one of the version seems to be by geeta dutt.can experts identify and confirm the singers. i feel song 1 is by geeta and song 2 is by meena kapoor. regards, mahesh

In that sense, the word 'politics' is pertinent. Although Asha-ji was long associated with OPN, she was never identified solely with him. Reportedly, she was also close to Ravi. And of course, later with RDB. As for Lata-ji, she remained single and foot-loose and fancy-free! Due to the limited output of her songs, IMHO it does not justify a separate sub-forum for Meena Kapoor. While on the subject, here are some video clips (in Real Media) from "ANOKHA PYAR" featuring the voice of Meena Kapoor : If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Unregistered	The film although failing at the box office is still remembered for his singer wife Meena Kapoor's rendering of Kuchh Aur Zamana Kehta Hai. Incidentally Anilda's one grouse with the Film Iindustry was that it never gave Meena Kapoor (Rasiya re - Pardesi) her due. He always used to say that here was a voice with base, huskiness and sex! There is a common saying: (in Bangal accent, which may be sometimes very different from modern Bengali) (Aite Shaal Jaite Shaal Taharei Koy Barishal) People from Barisal district come with back stabbing and while they leave they back stab (Shaal is bamboo)!!
