A perpetual favourite from among Geeta-ji's renditions, from "AAR PAAR", picturized on Shakila with Guru Dutt also on-screen.

Video-clip in Real Media of a song-sequence from "BAAZ" (1953) picturized on Geeta Bali. The "humming" at the beginning of this beautiful song by Geeta-ji is particularly appealing.

QUOTE(unni @ Jun 21 2005, 08:42 AM) Video-clip in Real Media of a song-sequence from "BAAZ" (1953) picturized on Geeta Bali. The "humming" at the beginning of this beautiful song by Geeta-ji is particularly appealing. . You know people say that BAAZ was a flop. But you know I liked Baaz more than I liked aar Paar. It was an excellent story written by Guru Dutt. Things shown in 1953 in Indian films as seen in Baaz in the ship , slave drivers/driving as well as throwing slaves into the mid ocean----are what Steven Speilberg showed in the famous movie Amistad.....It was the same Spainards/Portuguese!!! I am anguished to think people in my country could not take such depth of picturisations!!!!! Sorry either we were STUPID or these people were too advanced for the time!!! Whichever suits you, take it!!! I HAD TO VENT!!!!!! Bappa |
