This applies to all forums.
It would be appreciated if the following points are observed when requesting song uploads: 1) Please check the Songs Library before requesting the song 2) Please clarify if the song is in the Library OR that you already have the song, but you are seeking a longer version/film version/better sound quality 3) Please specify if you want the upload only from a DVD or CD, since some members take the trouble of converting from records and tapes 4) Please provide the name of the film/album if you have the information -- makes it easier to track down the song You would appreciate that members take time and trouble to fulfill our requests, and we owe it to them to be as helpful as possible. Your kind co-operation is sincerely requested. Any further suggestions from our members in this regard would be most welcome. If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

I might suggest a point no. 5.
 5) If you are requesting a song, better find out who the singers are and if it's by one of the stalwarts for whom there are dedicated forums here, then post it in the respective section - you have a better chance of getting that song if the request crosses the eyes of devoted members of that forum. Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living". I fear if I examined it, then according to Heisenberg uncertainty principle it would somehow change. After all, we are just particles.

Its hard to find out info on old movies as well as the singers if u dont have them. and would be nice if all songs from that movie got posted in one thread rather then making 20 different threads for it.
Sometimes u hear one song of the movie and wonder how the rest of the songs are as its been ages since the movie has been seen by people and now its not easily available in places where they live. There are so many threads for one movie by singers why not do it by movies. would be much simpler Its just a suggestion i know im still new here but the layout is all over the place. Guru |

Good points Unni ji and Anurag. Thanks  Guru, that is why we have search engines like google. Most of the information is available thru there. If you try searching for songs with words grouped in double quotes, it makes life much easier. Dont hesitate. Hope this helps. Speaking of having songs according to movies, well then we wont have the idea of individual sub-forums for singers. |

Point well taken. The listings on-line are often incomplete. All that we are suggesting is, IF we know the name of the singer, it would be most useful to provide it. As Anurag mentioned, we are more likely to find a song by one of the "legends" if the request is posted in the forum dedicated to that artiste. Members of that forum, being devoted fans of that artiste, are more likely to possess the track and oblige us with an upload. Of course, if we don't know who the singer is, the question does not arise. As for uploading all the songs of a movie/album: Usually the requests are for particular songs. It would be impractical to upload all the songs of an album since every upload takes up valuable memory on the server. Moreover the instances of every song being good in a movie/album are quite rare. You would appreciate that we are trying to fulfill the specific individual requests, and not to showcase the entire album. If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Also if you tag your mp3s , it would be great... rename using ID3 properties... Name-Artist-Album.... etc and post .... it becomes so easy to understand the song , by which singer and if can include bitrate in filename too, would be excellent

Ya you might have to... for a dedicated good cause... akhir kabir keh gaye ke jo kaal kare so aaj... after all kabhi na kabhi kisi na kisi ko tag updates karne hi padenge naa;)... ha ha JK... yaar do whatever you all like.... my 2 cents was just to make Chitralekha ji's job easier for song library... by automating task such as I can than extract the file info from DB and get her a result list...
