This topic does not pertain to this forum but the outcome can so.....
Can someone tell me how to normalise volume within a track ie if the track has fluctuating volume how does one get the thing to one single volume?
An option in cool edit would help as that is the only thing I have at least 1% idea abt thanks to Talkzji. Or Goldwave maybe. I have a few songs that go that way--very irritating and frustrating. cry.gif

Most of the MP3 player and Audio CD burning s/w has this feature now built in..... Just look for normalized option for burning and gain control for s/w player....

Nero has a normalise function as does mp3 workshop--I though these were for normalising all tracks for cd burning!!!
What is mp3gain?
BTW when a song begins right away with music and ends the same way how does one remove noise? In cooledit U select noise and then eliminate it par jab poora music hai to kya kar sakte hain? cry.gif

mp3gain will do the same thing what normalize does for entire CD.... Mp3gain I guess u have to do it once and it converts the original song ... Many mp3 player has this dynamic gain control thing... so you can leave the original file intact....

For starting and trailing of song what you want is fading... many professional sound editor has various filters for fading , they come in various taste tongue.gif ... like smooth fading , fast fading , etc etc... you just need to select this and add fading to it... I 've not used cooledit yet so dunno how u do it in that... maybe those who use cooledit frequently might know the answer ?

No I do not want fade in and fade out--what i meant is in cool edit U select a part that has noise but no song like at the beginning or end of the track. Then that is used to eliminate similar noise throughout the file. But many songs just start baaaaaa with the music and end dhup with music. To koi kya kare???
Where is my Guru Talkzji???
And where is Pradeep with the promised and undelivered Goldwave tutorial???

ON cooledit in order to normalize the song. You need to go to Effects Then Amplitude Then Normalize.

Have u uploaded the song for all the maharatis on the forum to take a crack at it?

Someone here might be able to fix it. If the source is horrible there is not much u can do.

Thanks for the tip. Also I usually adjust playback rate with goldwave--does cooledit have an option. Sorry for sounding like such a goose. Now Unni will say sounding like?

Guruji tried normalising. Did not work. I have a song that dips in vol suddenly at the antara and that dip remains after normalising. Should I enter figures or values? Also the crackle removal feature it tells me it will require 7+ hrs to fix crackle--I told it no thanks. 7 hrs for one song?????? Does it really work like that? sad1.gif

make that CRACKLE!!!! Me and my dumb brain and typocs!!!

I didnt think normalize would bring up the volume of ur song u have to grab sections and try to adjust that what is low. I haven never had to adjust the speed of the recording with cooledit so i will have to check if there is a option to do that also.

I will take a look at it tomm.
