Rare partial lunar eclipse on Monday
India and several parts of the world will witness a rare partial lunar eclipse on Monday when the moon will rise under eclipse. The eclipse of the moon, the last this year, would begin at 5:04 p.m, as the earth's shadow creeps over the rising moon, and end at 6:03 p.m. The beginning of the partial phase of the eclipse would be visible from the eastern parts of the country, while sky watchers across India would be able to se an eclipsed moon. “However, eclipse will not be very clearly visible as moon will pass through the penumbra of earth shadow (part of shadow in which images are not very sharp),” Amitabh Pande of Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators said.
