Song by Akbar khan Durrani Peshawari from film Abla. Female singer is unknown. Note the booming voice. At 128 kbps, duration = 3.18 min....khawar Wow!!! This is a real treat Khawar Saab. I'd only heard two songs by Akbar Khan Durrani Peshawari - Kaun Hai Kiska Meet and Hausla Aashiq Ko Chahiye (both low bitrate recordings). I love his voice and singing. Thanks for this song - its great too. If you have any other songs but this unknown but great singer (including good recordings of the above two songs) please upload them as well whenever you get the time. In the meantime, I'll hear this song a few times. By the way, the song is from Alba (1941) and the MD is listed as Khurshid Khan. I think there were two female voices in the song.... Believe it or not, the correct name is Abla which means.. dubli patli khoob-soorat aurat. A movie by this [Abla] name was also made and released in Lahore in 1930. Its cast included Sunita Devi. It was a silent movie. Oops!!! Typo error on my part. Thanks for the definition. I'll add Abla to my vocabulary and surprise ppl Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. H. Auden |

Funny...there is a word called Abala in my mother tongue..Telugu. It means Lady...but vulnerable lady.
Strange ways of languages !! After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Given the year 1940 in which Holi was released, Zeenat Begum is unlikely to have moved from Lahore to Bombay. She came much later, in mid-Forties. Many thanks for these rare uploads Khawar Bhai Pradeep |

Believe it or not, the correct name is Abla which means.. dubli patli khoob-soorat aurat. Abla literally and more commonly means a powerless, weak woman. So it may be inappropriate to use it when describing a beautiful lady. My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com
