SF, normally, I draw a line at 1968/69. From here, frankly, I do not have a liking for HFM, be it Rafi Saab's songs or others' songs!

Strictly a personal view.

Venkat

I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

Venkat...I totally can understand you. I myself heard it very recently...and got hooked to it. Actually the voice of Rafi sounds so beautiful...I got doubt that it might be from earlier years..Would love to have you listen to it..
here is the song...give it a try... smile.gif

I know which song this is, but i wont say V2 smile.gif

"The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen,
nor touched...but are felt in the heart."

Far, very far, into the world of the farthest beyond
My hope carries me and places me
On the sweetest lap of the unknown.
There i behold my self-form
In the Dance-Delight of the Absolute

Every Night and every Morn
Some to Misery are born
Every morn and every Night
Some are born to sweet Delight
Some are born to Endless night

In fact, there are three keys to this! smile.gif

1. Knowing the song well by having it or even otherwise

2. More important, liking that song very much

2. Most important, a very good musical ear.

For example, out of the 11 clips uploaded so far (other than my own two), I do not have any song with me except "Main Ne Chand Aur Sitaron".

But, I knew/replied 7 out of these 11, because I know and like very much six and I have, know and like very much one.

As for the other four, I do not only not have them, but out of these four, I do not know one and do not much like three, though I know them!

Venkat...You, subir and other members are really gifted..that you can identify the MD by their traits..the instruments they favour..etc. Personally my heart / brain recognizes the songs which i like..love ..and listened to. smile.gif

That you were able to identify those songs which havent heard is just terrific..a different class altogether. smile.gif

SF, Subir Ji had uploaded 3 clips (Reshmi Rumal, Suraj, Ek Raaz) and all the three are top-grade musical bits, which can compete with the song itself. Much like your own Kajal, Phool Bane Angaare, Baradari and Chandrakanta ones! The musical bit, to be special, has got to have a character! There are plenty of preludes/interludes otherwise which are life-less and dull-as-dust!
