OMkar, may I humbly suggest something pls?
When I came to HF, I was surprised to find many people here who d/l-ed, collected, listened to, appreciated and loved a lot of non-Hindi songs they had collected only because they belonged to a particular singer/MD/lyricist/whatever.
I was surprised that such a thing could happen at all. In fact for a fair bit of time, I used to translate the songs for people to appreciate their meaning.
In that sense, I wonder if we all could post in a commonly understood language (with whatever marathi thrown in additionally) so that a wider spectrum of people know what we are talking about.
Just my humble suggestion. Please forgive if I am talking out of turn...

I agree with Mandrake's thoughtful suggestion. After all, HF is a platform where music lovers from all over the globe have come together to share sheer JOY, i.e. music, so let us see to it that our posts are understood by all of them. This can only be done by keeping the main content of the post in English while adding the SPICE of a regional language (here it means Marathi) to add to the richness of the recepie. After all, music has no language barrier.

Priy Mandrake, Paresh and everyone,

As you guys might have noticed I have joined HF on 30.11.2006 and I downloaded almost 10gb music, some songs as new, some to compare sound quality with my versions, etc etc.

The moment I saw Marathi forum, I could not stop myself to write the stuff in Marathi. I wish there was any Marathi script writer available here to post msgs in Marathi!

But I totally agree Mandrake's point and apologize for my act (not a mistake) which could be an inconvenience to many other music lovers. I must write primarily in English and some punch lines in Marathi!

Whatever friends I have, everyone tells me at least once that OMkar you are a person who think by heart and not by brain (And of course, I dont care for what they say because I myself know how my heart and brain are the best friends. Both work together and try to justice anything I sense using my five senses)

The song I am attaching here is my childhood song and I still get emotional while listening to this song. Aajahi he gane aiktana majhya hridayacha thhoka thoda chukto!! I recorded it from the radio programme just because I use to hear this song a lot on the radio in my childhood. If anyone has LP version of this song, please do upload (Not a remastered version by HMV or any other company, they are very good in messing the whole clarity of songs)

chala sagale english madhye lihit aahet mahanje koni tari marathi bolayala harkat nahi.

all songs are simply great and lata's music direction has special marathi 'gramin' touch. these songs rank among the best ones composed in all these decades.

Majhya changlya nasheebamuley malaa sangeetache khoop chhan vatavaran milale aani agdi lahanpanapasunach mi khoop chhan chhan gani aikat aani mhanat aalo aahe. I was popular for singing 'Ugavala chandra punavecha' song. I am talking about my childhood days of begining of 80s. I won lot of musical awards as well that too when I was a kid. I have uploaded my recent song in 'Sur mein na sahi' section.

But the way Asha Khadilkar has sung this song is is absolute out of this world... Aani Shaunak ne suddha ya ganyalaa ek nave rooop dile aahe...

Sorry Mitranno, I had to hibernate for some time as I am not able to access HF from my office for the last 5 days, I am trying to sort that out with the help of the very generous admins of HF.

Here is a song which you might not have heard before. I recorded this Suresh Wadkar romantic beauty from DD Mumbai on 31st Dec of 1988 (or 1989 I don't remember). It was the New Year Eve program. This song was picturised on Ajinkya Dev and Nivedita Joshi (now Saraf) on some beautiful beach.

This only shows how much you must be missing those DD days like me. How I wish I could relive that period in my life!! If only I was in a position to do so, I would have recorded and preserved all those great "Aarohi", "Gajra","Phool Khile hai gulshan gulshan" etc.

It will be interesting to find out who was the lyricist and composer of that beauty by Suresh Wadkar.

Here is one more from my side. This is from the early 90s album "Fite Andharache Jaale" , composed by the extremely talented Shridhar Phadke. Frankly, I am not a great fan of Anuradha Paudwaal but I feel this is one of her best renditions in Marathi music.

This is an extremely beautiful song with a very sweet tune, the use of guitar and flute adding to the refreshing fragrance ... just mind blowing. If you carefully listen on earphones (there is no better way to enjoy real music than to use good quality earphones IMHO), you will mildly hear the other side of the cassette recording, something which I could not avoid due to the slight misalignment of the pickup head at that time.You will have to forgive me for that since I had limited resources then.

Omkar, As far as I know, there is no audio release of "Nakshatranche Dene". BTW it is a series of stage programs which were organised by Alpha(now Zee) Marathi. Are you talking of the same? If yes, which particular one do you have? These programs were based on different artists' contributions to Marathi music. For eg., there were "Nakshatranche Dene" based on Shriniwas Khale, Jeetendra Abhisheki, Ga Di Ma etc. I will be happy if you can upload whatever you have. These are very precious gems which will never be recreated.

And Mitranno(Dhananjay, Shama etc.), please keep this thread alive . Let us do so as long as we can.

Thanks a lot for this gem !! I distinctly remembered "Kaanho gheun jaay" and "punhaa ekadaa", but I had no memories about this one. And it turned out to be a very sweet surprise !! I'm glad you chose this for dedicating to me...

I have no idea about this one .. Was it the "Title song" of any serial ? Seems strange that I missed such a beautiful gem!!! (Actually, my father was transferred out of Maharashtra in 87-88.. That's when I was out of touch with Mumbai DD.. If this title song is from that period, I must have definitely missed it !!)

Dhananjay, I vaguely remember a Marathi serial ( the name was something like AVHAAN) where the central character who sings this song is tortured by her in laws after her forced marriage with somebody she does'nt like and she longs to meet her lover (look at the lyrics). Her in laws try to kill her by burning etc. I clearly remember that Mr. Atmaram Bhende was in that serial. May be now somebody will be able to throw more light on this.

I seem to have misplaced that beautiful Grace poem composed by HM and sung by LM - bhay ithle sampat naahi...
Will locate and upload it. I forget which serial, but it was a title song.
Also, there was the enchanting title jingle of 'Pimpalpaan' (varya varati thirkat aale aathvaneenche pimpal paan).
Another beautiful title jingle I remember is of a serial whose title slips my mind just now (Naati Goti ?), but the lyrics are like this:

I sincerely feel we should make this thread a complete one by contributing songs of all genres.
Most of my childhood has been spent in a village and I have some nostalgic memories of that period. For eg., whenever there used to be a Satyanarayan Pooja anywhere, they used to play the series of "Dattaguru" bhajans by Shri R. N. Paradkar (who was an authority on these). There used to be a loudspeaker system and the LP record with all its scratch noise, but all that used to sound great. While scanning through my collection , I suddenly noticed this bhavpurn bhajan in the praise of Shri Dattaguru. The voice makes me feel very nostalgic and I am reminded that those great days have gone forever.

We know it Danny, you are the backbone of the Marathi section, thanks pal for this gem! This song looks easy but the intricate modulation required here is not anybody's cup of tea. These comments are directly picked up from Marathi Saregama. The judges were Ajay Atul (today's most popular MDs) and the contestant was Dyaneshwar Meshram who made a mess of the song, in fact he was totally overpowered by the chorus.Unfortunately, (though I am itching to do so), HF guidelines prevent me from uploading that video clip. But what a rendition by Waghya!!!

This song is actually from "Saamanaa" !! I had seen this movie on DD when I was a kid.. Of course, tyaa veles malaa ha chitrapat phaarasa samajala naahi. Pan mi hya gaanyaachi khoopach dhaasti ghetli hoti.. Wonder if you remember the picturisation of the song. It gives you a feeling that something "dangerous and nasty" is about to happen.

Responding to your request on "Paaus Gaani" thread. Here are some more songs from the album by Anuradha Paudwal . She has also sung some duets with Arun Date for this release.
Actually, the album also has a couple of songs that were not originally sung by her.... (more like cover versions). I'll try to exclude those.

Starting with these two -

This is the song which is so much close to my heart. When I heard for the first time, I could not memorise the lyrics so one of my friend who is a poet wrote few lines on the same tune for me. The tune is gr8, words are beautiful. And at last sung by AshaTai.. To phir kya kehne??? Loooooott Looo...

I am back after a break, was busy for some time and also there was a slight problem with my angels subscription which is sorted out now. You guys have done a great job in keeping this Marathi section of HF going in full swing.

Omkar, the song 'Mana tuze manogat' from 'Kalat Naklat' is a lovely soft rendition by Ashaji. this movie was shown on Zee Marathi last Sunday and it is a touching one. Please upload the remaining part of the song.Here Zee Marathi have started the second Saregama competetion and recently they had Suresh Wadkar as judge. He sang "Tula Pahile Mi" and "Kaal dehasi aala khavu", both were too good. I wish I could upload these but for HF regulations!

If anybody has the song "Ghe javali ghe javali priyasakhaya bhagavanta" by Latadidi, please upload it. I think it is from the movie "Mansala pankh astaat". Recently in the Saregama episode Suresh Wadkar was asked to comment on this song after a contestant tried her best to render it. He appreciated her effort but commented that "Asla shivdhanushya pelayla Latadidi navacha Ramach janmala yava lagto!!"

If we have more of such songs, then we may think of creating a gmail account for our group, with a shared password. We can always exchange such songs on that account. That way, all members (angels/ non-angels) would be able to enjoy them

This is specially for Dhananjay since he mentioned he had not heard the original of this song.. I have uploaded on gmail the video of this song by Suresh Wadkar in Saregama . I remembered I had recorded a major portion of this one way back in the 90s.Since this was recorded from AM radio (AIR PANAJI), the sound quality may not be up to the mark. There used to be a fine program called "Manapasant Geete" on this station and it was presented by one Shri Ramanand Joshi who had a great voice. You can hear him say the beginning lines at the start of this clip.

Hi all,

In 1961, Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande, Pt. Kumar Gandharva & Others had gathered in Pune to record a 'letter' on a tape, to be sent abroad.

Just for nostalgia's sake, i am uploading the conversation at the beginning of the said 'letter'

(The fact is that i love, adore & respect these great artists to such an extent that i enjoy listening to them even when they are not singing!)

Here is your request "Swapnaat Sajana Yeshil Ka", but the sound quality is not too good, as i have recorded this direct from the programme "Chitrageet" (Sahyadri Vaahini).

But something is better than अजिबातच nothing
