as origin as popular belief.. but which even has an Indian origin when Master Madan recorded it for AIR in 40s

This is not Master Madan. Thats obvious from the first phrase sung.

This is not Master Madan. Thats obvious from the first phrase sung.

And this recording sounds more like 1950s or onward, certainly not early 40s...

Dhall Saab

Master Madan passed away much too soon in 1942. Was he overworked by greedy family members or killed by a jealous rival - nobody can say with any certainty.

Can I tell it is not him? Absolutely. Master Madan had a very unique voice and surprisingly mature singing style. And this particular song is so obviously not sung by him. If it were, his cause of death would've been more readily ascertainable as profound embarassment!

Pakistani singer Master Sajjad. This was released in 1979.
