We were lucky, we had clear skies and temperature in mid 80ies. It did rain when we started from Miami but then half way through it was all clear. We missed sunset since we spent more time at Honda state park. I was able to shoot sunrise pics early in the morning though

Bahia Honda State Park beach is ranked amongst top 10 beaches of USA. I got to know about this when I was doing online research. It's a very small key and easy to miss unless you are specifically looking for it.
Beach and park are really good but there was too much of weed washed ashore on the other side. Swimming area has crystal clear water, I saw one sting ray and that was it, never entered water again. More so, like most of key beaches this one too is artificial, well that is what I figured out. This one too has rocks if you walk 5-7 feet into the water

Marcilo,
Thanks for sharing some beautiful travel pictures. Some of these scenes appear familiar. Please keep posting more pictures.
I found a short description of the Awakening sculpture:
Just about a mile from the National Mall along the beautiful Potomac Haines Point - Washington DC - The Awakening - Reaching Arm.
The highlight is at the end of the park, on a peninsula called Hains Point. There you will find a most interesting sculpture called The Awakening. It is giant 5-part cast aluminum statue that looks like a 100 foot tall bearded man. Head mostly buried and appears to be struggling to free himself, with only his face contorted in a scream, a single hand, arm, one bent knee and a foot exposed above ground. I believe the face looks Neptune-ish.
Haines Point - Washington DC - The Awakening - HandCreated by American sculptor J. Seward Johnson, Jr., and installed in the park in 1980 for the International Sculpture Conference Exhibition; it has arguably become one of the most popular non-monument sculptures in DC.

Here is one more description from the net
The Awakening is a 100-foot-long aluminum sculpture in five separate parts depicting an anguished bearded giant either being swallowed by the earth, emerging from it, or being trapped in it (that’s how you know it’s art…because it’s vague), all in such a way that it implies that the rest of the statue is underground. You can’t see his knee or foot in these pictures, mostly because I don’t have those kind of fetishes. You can find much more descriptive pictures of it elsewhere on the Internet.

here is interesting read
http://www.buynewyorktours.com/tours/nyc-empire-state-building-observatory.html
At, 1,050 feet (320 meters), reached by high speed, automatic elevators, it has both a glass-enclosed area, which is heated in winter and cooled in summer, and spacious outdoor promenades on all four sides of the Building. There are Indoor and Outdoor viewing areas.
High powered binoculars are available on the promenades for the convenience of visitors at a minimal cost. Souvenir counters are also located in the 86th floor observatory. The 86th floor observatory is handicap accessible.
The 102nd floor Observatory has re-opened as of November 1, 2005. Admission tickets are only sold at the Observatory ticket office, located on the 2nd floor of the building, at a cost of $15.00 in addition to regular admission tickets.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My last trip was in 2004 so I guess back then they did not allow 102nd floor.

Beautiful!! How did you get the colour while aiming AT the sun? Filter use kiya kya?
Or just a digital camera that works without getting 'blinded'?
Which model? Which manufacturer?

No filter, I am long overdue for SLR. I still use my good old regular digi cam.
With sun I have noticed if one has to shoot directly, one has to wait till it's about to set else you do get 'blinded' unless one is working with filters and all. I normally wait till it's about there and then shoot directly

Yes no filters. I did miss having decent SLR when I went to smokeys. That place is amazing.
I did not get this right in one go. I had to take three or 4 shots. There was a light bulb on to the right and that was casting good light on wooden pillars, outside was gloomy, dark and foggy. First shot, I am sure I still have that too, was a disaster. Light bulb was in frame and that killed other surroundings. For second I think I used night mode to capture as much light as I could. This time again with bulb in frame it was disaster. Since bulb was bright that caused camera not to wait enough to get more of outside light so again it wasn't good.
I pushed blub outside the frame, made kind of shade with my hand so that light of blub didn't come directly to camera… and got this
Check out disasters. One without hand shade and one with bulb in frame. (Pics resized)
