She was just 16 when Sanjay Leela Bhansali signed her for Devdas.
Success raga: I don't take life in terms of success. Of course, goals motivate me. But I breath, eat and sleep music. Bhansali saw me on television and had heard all my songs before signing me for his film. I feel hardwork and talent is what leads to success.
The road to music: My father is a scientist. I started my performance in a club's annual function. My maternal grand-mother is a classical singer and my mother has a wonderful sense of music. But it's my father who initiated me into music. However, coming from an academic background, there was always peer pressure to go for technical courses.
Bairi piya to Jadoo hai nasha hai: I started play-back singing with Devdas as the songs had a classical feel to it. Jism helped to broaden my canvas. And recently Parineeta gave me a great chance as a singer.
Studio blues: I consider studios as my home and one doesn't feel nervous at home. But when there's too much expectation from a song, I do feel the pressure.
Memorable moments: It was wonderful to perform at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne recently. Being with so many athletes from different countries was simply amazing. And of course winning the National Award was also a moment of pride.
I would have loved: To sing with Kishore Kumar.
I get excited by: People doing extra-ordinary things. So my wish list is forever getting longer: To go on an Antarctica expedition, mountain climbing, bungee jumping and... Good food also excites me and I share this passion with my father.

Two points...
1: You certainly aren't as pretty as her.
2: You can't sing. Period.

1: Not untrue.
2: Possibly, but if you could sing, we'd have heard you by now on one of the SMNS threads...
3: Everybody is...

2. Kishore was a great singer / Shreya is easy on the eye and lovely to listen to.
3. Everyone is biased, but Nimii, Priya, Shivani, Vivz, GKS and Catch are more biased. You are most biased.

How was I dragged in here?
Never remember making any kind of observation on Ur voice. And before U say silence is guilty, U never let us sample Ur dulcet tones.
Waise I shud be the one offended. I uploaded my dubious melodies and nary a word from U.

This topic has been moved here from the Kishore Kumar forum.
The next move might be to Chit-O-Chat!

Why do you assume the assumption is purely about voice? Is that the only thing in the world to be biased about?
And btw, I've NEVER visited the SMNS thread even once. Not even to see what's happening there. The only people who I've heard singing are the ones who also mailed me their singing, via PM. (That was touchingly sweet, as I hadn't asked for it).

Shreya Goshal needs to lower a pitch a bit. She has too much pitch. Just look at the song. Agar Dil kahe, she screwd up the whole song with her high pitch.

MD's are fond of high-scale singing these days. Thanks to
AR Rehman for reinventing high scale singing in 90s which
was buried somewhere in the soil
High scale singing helps singers to clear their stuffed noses, throat(and.........)
Shreya sounds sweet at middle sclae.
